The World SF Blog

Speculative Fiction from Around the World

WANTED: Enthusiastic film blogger!

One of the things I enjoyed the most about the blog is the ability to include film trailers and short films on an occasional basis.

I’d like to make this a more permanent feature of the blog, as well as expand the team behind the World SF Blog.

Therefore, I’m looking for a film enthusiast to run a weekly film post on the blog.

WHAT THIS MEANS: You would be required to find (predominantly from youtube – I think WP.com also supports vimeo, but not sure) short films or film trailers – science fiction, fantasy or horror – from around the world, conforming to the notion of “World SF”, and post them once a week on the blog. Posting additional material about the film would be good too – summary, creator information, links etc.

LEVEL OF WORK: This is a fairly low-maintenance role, requiring just one post a week, on a specific day. The actual posting shouldn’t take more than five minutes, but the work, of course, is in finding the right thing to post each week.

COMPENSATION: There is no financial compensation (we wish!), but you get the satisfaction of contributing to the discourse on international speculative fiction, not to mention being a part of a multiple award nominated blog (World Fantasy Award, British Science Fiction Award, winner of a special Kitschies Award) and all the glory and fame that come with it!

HOW TO APPLY: Drop me (Lavie) an e-mail at worldsfblog@gmail.com and we’ll take it from there!

ETA: To see what we mean, here is the film category of the blog.
